Why Shea Butter
If you read through several of Harper's Naturals ingredient listings, you will notice that shea butter is a main ingredient. Shea Butter is used in the shea healing butter, deodorant, soap, etc. Shea butter is an exceptional skin care ingredient and I wanted to share with you a few reasons why.
Shea butter is great at soothing and hydrating the skin. It is used to treat skin ailments such as eczema and psoriasis. It goes on thick but blends in well with the skin, leaving your skin feeling very light and moisturized not thick and heavy like most creams. It contains vitamins and minerals, such as A and E.
In a clinical study done by Frank Renard, Ph.D., shea butter was found to have significant antiaging properties and was proven to help rebuild and rejuvenate collagen. Participants in this study were given shea butter to use as a balm to massage on their skin for four to eight months. The results showed clearer, brighter skin; less wrinkles; and even less sun damage. (Live Strong)
Shea butter has also been known to be an anti-inflammatory. It helps to relieve the pain and heal cuts, scrapes, and burns. It may also take the sting out of certain insect bites.
